Indigo St. David's Cross Blanket
A charming blanket crafted from a timeless pattern inspired by early 18th century Shaker weaves in a handsome indigo and white color scheme. The design is woven as a traditional Welsh doublecloth which is known as "tapestry cloth" in Wales. Doublecloths are two layers of fabric which are woven one above the other, and interchange at points which allows for bold patterning on both sides of the fabric to be imagined. Doublecloths are admired for their union of beauty and utility, and make for wonderful bedcovers and hearty throws. Woven at a historic Welsh mill which has been operating in the same location since the 17th century, and since 1912, has been in the same family for three generations. Melin Tregwynt is dedicated to keeping the tradition of wool and Welsh weaving alive. This reversible blanket is sure to impart coziness for many years to come. Made from 100% pure new wool which is soft, comfortable and hardwearing. Finished with a simple hem so either side can be displayed. Handmade in Wales.
